NEW DELHI - Delhi Police Sunday afternoon carried out a mock drill at the Palika Bazaar and Connaught Place areas to determine the response of various agencies in case of a bomb threat.

A call was made around 3.20 p.m. after which various agencies went into action to check their response time.

‘Sniffer dogs, bomb disposal squads and Delhi Police’s quick response teams were immediately pressed into action after the call. The drill lasted for more than two hours and the market was completely evacuated,’ a police official said.

‘The drill will help us in assessing the shortcomings and other issues related to emergency exercises. It would help us in analysing the response and co-ordination of various agencies,’ he said.
