Sarkozy falls ill, hospitalised

PARIS - French President Nicolas Sarkozy was taken to hospital Sunday after falling ill while exercising, French media reports said.

France Info radio said the incident occurred before noon at his residence in Versailles.

Sarkozy was taken to the Val-de-Grace military hospital in Paris where he was being examined by doctors. No details about his condition or the nature of the illness were provided.

According to his office, Sarkozy was last examined in early July and the results were normal.
