SAIC gets Navy deal worth up to $18M
SAN DIEGO — Science Applications International Corp. said Tuesday it received a contract worth up to $18 million from Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command for an upgraded communication system.
SAIC will develop and deliver a low band universal communications system for the Navy’s Office of Command, Control, Communications, Computers and Intelligence. It will help upgrade the service’s current system with new hardware, developing new software, and more.
The defense contractor will also provide program management, systems engineering and other services.
The deal has a two-year base period with an additional options to extend through 2014.
Shares of SAIC fell 19 cents to close at $17.73.
