CHANDIGARH - The Chandigarh administration has sanctioned a budget of Rs.17.4 million for the beautification and maintenance of Rock Garden, a major tourist attraction here.

‘Considering various proposals put forward by Nek Chand, curator of Rock Garden, we have decided to add more artistic value to the garden. The structural redesigning would be undertaken to improve the aesthetic view of the garden,’ Home and Tourism Secretary Ram Niwas said Wednesday.

‘The money will be spent on an assortment of things to enhance the beauty of the garden. Low height sculptures will be built apart from maintaining existing establishments in the Rock Garden,’ said Niwas.
