Rains bring respite to Delhiites

NEW DELHI - Delhiites woke up to a pleasant morning Sunday as rains led to a drop in temperatures.

The capital recorded 43.4 mm rain, and the met department predicted more showers.

Said an official of the Indian Meteorological Department: “The city can expect one to two spells of rain or thundershowers.” The showers were accompanied by power cuts in some areas.

The maximum temperature is six degrees below normal and the minimum three degrees below normal for this time of the year, the weatherman said.

Delhi recorded a maximum of 35.2 degrees Celsius and minimum of 24.7 degrees Celsius Saturday.
