KOCHI - Queen Mary 2, billed as the grandest and most magnificent ocean liner ever built, came calling at the port here Wednesday. This is its second voyage to this port city.

The liner arrived from Singapore early in the day and was scheduled to leave for Dubai in the evening. On board are 2,451 passengers and 1,253 staff members, including Indians.

The liner has 13 decks and boasts of the most modern luxuries and amenities, including a planetarium and an ayurveda massage parlour. The vessel, which entered service in January 2004, had made its maiden voyage to Cochin on March 7 last year.

Of late, Kochi has become a stop for many leading luxury liners. It is all set to end the current fiscal with another good season with 36 cruise ships having arrived at the port here.

Queen Mary 2 is still among the largest and most beautiful ships of the world. Really like it much, but in my eyes it is quite conservative. If she creates more entertainments for young people it will be perfect.
