1 dies in propane explosion at Minn. farm supplier
WACONIA, Minn. — One young man is dead and another injured after a propane tank exploded at a farm supply company in Minnesota.
The victim was an employee of Waconia Farm Supply. His name has not been released, but friends tell the Star Tribune he was a high school senior.
Carver County Sheriff’s Lt. Dave Williams says the tank exploded around 5 p.m. Wednesday. Authorities are investigating.
The injured person has wounds that are not life-threatening.
Waconia Farm Supply has more than 100 employees and sells farm equipment, lawn and garden supplies, fuel and feed. Waconia is about 25 miles west of Minneapolis.
Sheriff Bud Olson called the explosion “a pretty traumatic event.”
