Professor alleges sexual assault

LUCKNOW - Police Saturday registered a criminal case against a director and two teachers of a private college in Uttar Pradesh on charges of sexually assaulting a woman professor.

The professor, who heads the management department of the college in Mathura district, about 300 km from Lucknow, alleged that the director sexually molested her and even tried to rape her along with two other teachers, police said.

“Acting on the complaint made by the 40-year-old professor Friday evening, we registered a case against the institute’s director and two others under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC),” police inspector Pankaj Rai told IANS over telephone.
