Product recalls

The following recalls have been announced:

— Torres Hillsdale Country Cheese of Reading, Mich., is recalling all lots of muenster, brick, queso quesadilla Michigan and farmers cheeses because they could be contaminated with listeria monocytogenes. This organism can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. It can also cause miscarriages and stillbirths in pregnant women. No illness has been reported. The cheeses were sold in 5- to 6-pound blocks at stores and delis in the following states: Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Missouri, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee and Wisconsin.
