NEW DELHI - Prime Minister Manmohan Singh is likely to undergo a heart bypass surgery on Saturday afternoon, a senior doctor at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) said Friday.

The prime minister’s health will be reviewed Friday evening by a team of doctors headed by his personal physician K.S. Reddy. A call on when to conduct the surgery will be taken after that, a senior doctor said.

Manmohan Singh, 76, had undergone an angiography Wednesday and been discharged from AIIMS Thursday.

AIIMS Medical Superintendent D.K. Sharma then said the prime minister had come for a check-up, which was conducted by doctors from various disciplines.
