Places to hike in Maine from Martha Stewart Living

NEW YORK — Martha Stewart writes about her home in Seal Harbor, Maine, in the August issue of Martha Stewart Living magazine. For foodies, the issue offers lobster recipes; for travelers, there are recommendations for places to go hiking around the Pine Tree State.

The hikes range from strolling around scenic Monhegan Island to trekking up Mount Katahdin, where the Appalachian Trail terminates.

Other suggestions in the magazine include trails on Bigelow Mountain, Douglas Mountain, East Royce Mountain, Isle au Haut, Moosehorn National Wildlife Refuge, Mount Blue, Mount Megunticook, and Old Speck Mountain.

Maine offers tremendous hiking options…early leave coloring just starting in Northern Maine. Baxter State Park is gorgeous, not too chilly during the day hikes up Katahdin, other trails.
