Person struck and killed by Metro train
WASHINGTON — Metro says a person has been struck and killed by a train at a station on the red line in Maryland just outside Washington.
The transit agency says the person was struck by an eight-car train shortly after 4 p.m. at the Forest Glen station, though the circumstances of the incident are unclear.
Metro says trains are sharing a single track in the area and that passengers should expect delays throughout rush hour.
The death happened just a few miles up the track from the site of last week’s train crash that killed nine. Trains in the area already are running slower than usual as investigators work to determine the cause of that crash.
