Pakistan envoy in Denver to discuss terrorism

DENVER — Pakistan’s ambassador to the United States is taking part in a panel discussion on the fight against terrorism.

Husain Haqqani’s appearance Thursday night in Denver comes on the eve of the eighth anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks in the U.S.

Haqqani is expected to discuss the role Pakistan plays in the international fight against terrorism and a resurgent Taliban.

In recent months, Pakistan’s military has been intensifying its fight against the Taliban.
