Pakistan officials: US missile strike kills 6

DERA ISMAIL KHAN, Pakistan — Pakistani officials say a suspected US missile strike has killed at least six people near Afghan border.

Two Pakistani security officials said several missiles flattened a house in the South Waziristan region early Tuesday.

South Waziristan is considered a stronghold of Taliban and al-Qaida militants. However, the identities of the victims was not clear.

The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they are not authorized to speak openly to the media.
