Suspected US missile strike kills 6 in Pakistan

DERA ISMAIL KHAN, Pakistan — Pakistani officials say a suspected U.S. missile strike has killed six people near the Afghan border.

Two intelligence officials say Saturday’s attack targeted a former government building in South Waziristan, a border region considered a stronghold for both the Taliban and al-Qaida.

The identity of the victims was not immediately clear.

The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they are not authorized to speak publicly to the media.
