Pakistan bombs militants close to Afghan border
ISLAMABAD — An intelligence official says Pakistani jets have bombed militant targets in an insurgent stronghold close to the Afghan border.
The military has been attacking militants in South Waziristan for several months ahead of an expected ground offensive there.
An intelligence official said the attacks Tuesday destroyed around 15 houses used by militants but had no information on casualties.
He spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to brief to the media.
