Overseer “hamstrung” in Saints La. tax credit case
NEW ORLEANS — A court-appointed overseer says he’s been “hamstrung” in getting the records of a movie studio tied in a $1.7 million investment dispute with members of the New Orleans Saints.
The trustee for Louisiana Movie Studios LLC says he’s been unable to locate key data about the finances of the company.
A federal bankruptcy judge decided Thursday to order studio head Wayne Read to New Orleans for sworn testimony. That came after Read did not show as ordered for the hearing.
Present and former team members thought they were buying movie tax credits. But the credits were never applied for.
