ISLAMABAD - A six-year-old child was killed and 10 others injured Thursday in a car bomb explosion in Pakistan’s northwestern Peshawar city, police and eyewitnesses said.

A man detonated an explosives-laden car through a remote control device at a residential area in the Kohat locality of the city, police chief Liaqat Ali said.

People have seen a man coming out of the car after he parked it near the flats of the government employees, Xinhua reported quoting the official.

Edhi Foundation, an aid group, said a six-year-old child was killed in the blast. Two women, two children and a policeman are among the 10 injured.

Police said a three-storeyed building nearby collapsed due to the impact of the blast.
