President meets with national security team
WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama continues a series of consultations on U.S. policy in Afghanistan and Pakistan on Wednesday, meeting this time with his national security team.
But first, Obama holds separate White House discussions with his senior advisers and with Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack.
In the early afternoon, he speaks to winners of the National Medal of Science and the National Medal of Technology and Innovation.
The president returns to the scientific theme in the evening. That’s when he and first lady Michelle Obama host a stargazing event on the South Lawn for local middle school students. Astronomers also will be there to help with hands-on experiments.
