Obama Challenges Russia to Think Beyond Cold War

MOSCOW — President Barack Obama says it’s up to the United States, Russia and the people of all countries to decide “what world order will replace the cold war.” Obama told college students in Moscow there are no “clear answers” to this difficult question. But he also said the United States “wants a strong, peaceful and prosperous Russia” and said Washington and Moscow have many reasons to work better together in the future.

He told the young people the future in some respects is in their hands, and that it’s up to their leaders to make the world a safer place by curbing the proliferation of nuclear weapons. The president told students at the New Economic School: “You get to decide what comes next. You get to choose where change will take us.”
