PESHAWAR - The North West Frontier Province (NWFP) Information Minister, Iftikhar Hussain, has held the Waziristan Taliban responsible for Tuesday’s suicide bomb attack on the Pearl Continental Hotel here.

“Whatever happens in Peshawar comes from Waziristan. Waziristan’s involvement is visible. This bombing was carried out to pressure the government to stop military offensive against the Taliban in Swat and Bannu.” The Daily Times quoted Hussain, as saying.

A little heard of terrorist organisation, Abdullah Uzzam Brigade had claimed the responsibility for the attack, and threatened to carry out more such attacks in future in retaliation against the Swat military operation.

Hussain said that it was the same group which had carried out terror attacks in the region in the past, and it was changing names to misguide the investigative agencies.

“Changing the name does not change your deed,” Hussain added. (ANI)
