Northwest flight hits turbulence, passengers hurt
LOUISVILLE, Ky. — An airport spokeswoman says a handful of passengers were hurt aboard a Northwest Airlines plane when it hit turbulence during a flight from Knoxville, Tenn., to Detroit.
Louisville International Airport spokeswoman Trish Burke says the flight landed there about 5:30 p.m. She says three or four passengers were injured.
Burke says she has no information on how bad the injuries were or where the plane hit turbulence. Severe storms plagued Kentucky on Tuesday.
A telephone call to the airline was not immediately returned.
On Monday, 26 passengers were injured when turbulence rattled Continental Flight 128 over the Atlantic, forcing it to land in Miami. The flight was on its way from Rio de Janeiro to Houston.
