Northrop Grumman unit wins US Navy contract
VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — Northrop Grumman Corp. said Monday its AMSEC subsidiary won a part of a five-year contract worth a total value of $455 million.
The shipbuilding work is for the Navy’s Hull, Mechanical, Electrical and Electronic System Alteration Installation Team Services. The defense contractor did not specify the size of its portion of the contract.
Northrop Grumman’s part of the work will be done in Norfolk, Va.; San Diego; Mayport, Fla.; Pearl Harbor, Hawaii; Everett, Wash.; and other locations.
The company is based in Virginia Beach, Va. Its shares rose 28 cents to close Monday at $49.28.
