Recent developments suggests that defying US, North Korea has fired 7 ballistic missiles off its eastern coast on Saturday, thus violating UN resolutions.
The mounting tension between the two nation, US and North Korea resurfaced as the latter test-fired three short-mid ranged missiles as a mark of protest against the UN sanctions which were imposed on the nation.
The communist led state launched two-surface-to ship missiles off the east coast. As per the reports, the missiles traveled nearly about 100 km before falling into the sea.
The missile firings were quite anticipated after North Korea called for a no-sail zone off it’s east coast due to military drills. The test-firing came amidst the strenuous relationship between the US and North Korea. The rivalry between the two nations was at its peak when the latter performed nuclear tests and a series of missile launches in May.
The UN has declared a new sanction regime against North Korea, curbing the latter from any sort of financial deals with the outside world. North Korea has also threatened of launching intercontinental ballistic missile. The missile launches are expected to further strain the US-North Korea relationship.

Reacting to the North Korea missile launch, the US Defense Officials stated that the US is fully prepared for the possible missile attack. The US defense has ruled out any possible chances of a nuclear war between the two nations. Earlier, in a televised interview, the US President, Barrack Obama had ensured the citizens of US by declaring that America is ready to defend any sort of attack triggered by North Korea. The present situation is quite volatile as North Korea gears up to launch a possible attack on US.
