Noida Metro Details

noidametroNoida- It’s a very special day for people of Noida as Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati will flag off first ever metro train in Uttar Pradesh today.

Sheila Dikshit will flag off metro train from Delhi (Akshardham) while Mayawati will inaugurate the metro rail services from Noida (City Centre Station). Mayawati will also inaugurate newly built City Centre Station in Noida.

The decision to open the Yamuna Bank to Noida City Centre Metro corridor was taken after Metro Railway Safety Commissioner R.K. Kardam gave the safety clearance.

The train will be available for commuters since Friday (November 13) 6:30 a.m.

DMRC estimates that 53,000 passengers would be added to its daily commuters after the opening of the Noida corridor.

Commuters will have to give some extra charges to avail this newly launched Noida metro, while the minimum charges of the fare will raise from Rs.6 to Rs.8 and maximum from Rs. 22 to Rs. 30.

This Noida Metro corridor will bring a drastic change for East Delhi and Noida commuters and they will not have to struggle from the heavy traffic, as told by the DMRC authority.

There will be 11 stations comprising six in Noida and five in Delhi on 12.8 km route on the Yamuna Bank (New Delhi) to City Centre Station (Noida) route. Out of 12.8 km route, 7 km comes in Noida and 5.8 km in Delhi.

The stations between Delhi and Noida are: Sector 15, Sector 16, Sector 18, Botanical Garden, Golf Course, and the City Centre (all comes in Noida) and Akshardham, Mayur Vihar Phase I, Mayur Vihar Extention and New Ashok Nagar (in Delhi).

With the inauguration of Noida metro, Uttar Pradesh will join the privilege list of metro club. There are plans to extend Noida Metro route to Greater Noida in future.
