NEW DELHI - The government Thursday said it has no plans to divest its stake in the state-owned power equipment maker Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL).

“There is no question right now,” Heavy Industries Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh told reporters here.

The minister was responding to a query on whether the government planned to dilute its holding in the Rs.28,000-crore (Rs.280-billion) public sector company.

The government holds 67 percent in the listed company, Deshmukh said, adding that there was no proposal for any immediate disinvestment.
