LUDHIANA - Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar ‘professes’ be a secular leader but there are doubts about that after he shared a dais with Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh said Monday.

‘There is no doubt Nitish Kumar professes to be a secular leader,’ the prime minister said, a day after Janata Dal-United (JD-U) leader Nitish Kumar and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Modi clasped hands in a show of camaraderie at an election rally here.

However, ‘a doubt arose’ after he saw the two leaders share a platform, he told journalists at a press conference here.
