Trial set for December for Nev. governor’s divorce

RENO, Nev. — A December trial date has been set for the divorce of Nevada Gov. Jim Gibbons and first lady Dawn Gibbons after several hours of private settlement talks ended with no agreement.

Dawn Gibbons’ lawyer, Cal Dunlap, emerged from a closed courtroom at Washoe District Family Court late Wednesday and said: “There’s no settlement. We’re going to trial.”

The governor and his attorney, Gary Silverman, declined to comment.

The trial is set to begin Dec. 28.
