Neiman Marcus October sales comparison falls
DALLAS — Luxury department store Neiman Marcus Inc. said Thursday that its sales in stores open at least one year fell 6.2 percent in October.
During the four weeks ended Oct. 31, Neiman Marcus said total sales fell 4 percent to $274 million.
The privately held company operates Neiman Marcus and Bergdorf Goodman stores.
Sales at stores open at least a year, are a key measure of retailer performance, because they measure growth at existing stores rather than from newly opened ones.
Women’s apparel, shoes and men’s clothing were the best sellers.
For the quarter ending Oct. 31, sales in stores open at least one year fell 13.7 percent, while total revenue fell 11.9 percent to $869 million from $986 million last year.
