NEW DELHI - Disappointing many women politicians, Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav on Wednesday maintained his party’s opposition towards Women’s Reservation Bill in its “present form”.

“The Bill is not acceptable to us in its present form,” Yadav told reporters outside Parliament.

When pressed further to express his opinion, Yadav said, “My opinion is the same today what it was earlier”.

It is notable that the Samajwadi party has long been opposing the Bill, and demanding modifications into the bill.

“Did Sonia ji become the country’s leader through reservation? Has Meira Kumar today become Lok Sabha Speaker due to reservation?,” Yadav asked reporters.

On being questioned whether he will oppose the bill if it is brought before the parliament, he said, “let the Bill come before the Parliament then we will see.” (ANI)
