MLB’s Civil Rights weekend at glance
Some highlights of Major League Baseball’s Civil Rights Game weekend events in Cincinnati:
FRIDAY: Round-table discussion on baseball and the civil rights movement at the National Underground Freedom Center.
SATURDAY NOON: Luncheon to honor Muhammad Ali, Hank Aaron and Bill Cosby for contributions to civil rights. Former President Bill Clinton will speak at Duke Energy Convention Center.
SATURDAY AFTERNOON: Current and past players participate in baseball demonstrations and activities at Fountain Square for MLB outreach initiative called “Wanna Play?”
SATURDAY EVENING: Ali, Aaron and Cosby on field before 7:40 p.m. game between the Chicago White Sox and Cincinnati Reds, with Frank Robinson throwing out first pitch. Teams will wear 1964-style uniforms.
