Coroner: Slain pastor had gashes to neck, chest

OKLAHOMA CITY — An initial autopsy report shows that an Oklahoma pastor who was killed inside her small church had major gashes to her neck and chest.

Officials at the state medical examiner’s office declined to comment on the preliminary report released Friday after an open records request by The Associated Press.

The report includes drawings showing that 61-year-old Carol Daniels had wounds across her entire neck and throat. She also had several wounds to her chest, and injuries to her back, stomach and hands.

Her cause of death was listed as “multiple sharp force injuries.”

Investigators also have said Daniels’ body was “staged,” or moved into an unnatural position, after she was killed Sunday at the church in Anadarko.
