Markets spend morning in the red

MUMBAI - Indian equities markets were in the red Friday morning, with the key index of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) opening slightly below its previous closing figure and staying range-bound in the first hours of trading.

The sensitive index (Sensex) of the BSE opened at 13,663.54, below Thursday’s closing figure of 13,736.54. Shortly before 12.30 p.m., the Sensex was at 13,671.78, still 64.76 points or 0.47 percent below its last close.

At the same time, the Nifty index of the National Stock Exchange was at 4,193.45 points, 0.41 percent below its last close at 4,210.90 points.
