Markets on a see-saw, Sensex slips

MUMBAI - Indian equities markets slipped into the red Monday afternoon after making some gains in the morning session. About an hour before the closing bell, a key index was ruling 20 points lower than its previous close.

The sensitive index (Sensex) of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), which opened at 11,237.42 points, dropped 20.17 points or 0.18 percent to rule at 11,308.88 points.

Similarly, the S and P CNX Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) lost 0.75 percent from the previous close to trade at 3,454.75 points.

The BSE midcap index shed 0.66 percent, while the BSE smallcap index was down 1.05 percent.
