RANCHI - Maoist rebels killed two men, whom they suspected to be police spies, by slitting their throat in Giridih district of Jharkhand, a police officer said Wednesday.

Banned Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) activists abducted Bhubaneswar Sao and Sunder Manjhi from Pirtand village of Giridih district, around 260 km from here Tuesday night.

Both the men were found dead on the Giridih Dumri road Wednesday morning, the police officer added.

‘They were killed by slitting their throats. The CPI-Maoist activists left a pamphlet owning responsibility for the killing and branded the killed men as police informers,’ he said.
