Maoists blast rail track in Orissa

BHUBANESWAR - Maoists blasted a railway track in Orissas Sundergarh district early Saturday, police said.

The rebels triggered the blast near Chandiposh railway station, some 30 km from the steel city of Rourkela, R.K. Bal, district superintendent of police (Railway), told IANS.

The blast occurred minutes after a goods train crossed the area, he said, adding that no body was injured.

The track was repaired within three hours and train services have resumed, the official said.
