Maoists attack train in Bihar, policeman killed

PATNA - Suspected Maoists Thursday attacked a passenger train in Bihar, killing a policeman and injuring two others and escaping with some arms and ammunitions, officials said.

Government Railway Police (GRP) sources said a group of Maoists attacked Muzaffarpur-Bhagalpur intercity train near Bariyarpur in Lakhisarai district, about 150 km from here.

A constable of the GRP was killed and two others were injured, the sources said. The assailants also looted some ammunitions and four rifles from the GRP personnel.

No passenger was harmed in the attack, the sources said.
