RAIPUR - A leopard, which injured many children in a Chhattisgarh village last week, was found dead in a pond in Mahasamund district, a forest department official said Tuesday.

The leopard was found dead Monday from a pond in Murpar village in Mahasamund, about 75 km from state capital Raipur.

The villagers were relieved after they spotted the leopard dead as it had injured many children and killed several goats in the last one week. The leopard had sneaked into the village from a nearby forest.
