NEW YORK — The following stocks were among those that moved substantially or traded heavily Friday on the New York Stock Exchange:

Las Vegas Sands Corp., down 47 cents to $13.32
An analyst boosted the casino operator
J.C. Penney Co., down $2.05 at $31.29
The department store chain posted a small loss in the second quarter on benefits from inventory controls and other cost-cutting moves.
Abercrombie & Fitch Co., up $1.29 at $34.25
The preppy teen retailer reported a fiscal second-quarter loss and its third straight quarter of double-digit sales declines.
Blockbuster Inc., down 14 cents at 72 cents
the struggling video rental company posted another second-quarter loss, Crowded by rivals offering alternative DVD services.
Tenet Healthcare Corp., up 34 cents at $4.77
An analyst upgraded the hospital operator and said he expects it to consistently exceed expectations over the next six months.
NASDAQ:
Amgen Inc., down 1 cent at $60.85
Analysts reaffirmed high expectations for its bone-strengthening drug, despite a mixed review from federal health advisers.
Select Comfort Corp., up 26 cents at $3.11
An analyst tagged shares of the bed retailer Select Comfort Corp. and said improving consumer spending has boosted mattress sales.
Autodesk Inc., up $1.18 at $25.38
The company, which makes engineering and design programs, reported a less severe decline in second-quarter earnings than expected.
