Labourer burns kids, self to death

AGRA - A poverty-stricken labourer burnt himself and his two minor children to death in the Pinhat town of Uttar Pradesh, police said Wednesday.

Shiv Charan Nishad, 50, set his hut on fire leading to his own death along with his two sons Chatrapal, 6, and Sonu, 9, late Tuesday evening in Pinhat, 70 km from Agra.

His wife died four years ago.

‘A group of relatives told police he was unable to make a living, and had been in a debt trap. Neighbours said Shiv Charan was also a liquor addict,’ a police officer said.
