CHENNAI - Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi Friday said India should sever all ties with Sri Lanka if the island nation does not announce a ceasefire immediately.

Thanking the Indian government for its statement that further civilian casualties in the ongoing military action would be unacceptable, Karunanidhi said: ‘India should snap all ties with Sri Lanka, including diplomatic, if a ceasefire is not announced by the Sri Lankan government by tonight.’
