RANCHI - Jharkhand Governor Syed Sibtey Razi has given his consent to the government’s recommendation of a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into the killing of a businessman, an official said Thursday.

Raju Dhanuka, a coal trader and contractor, was shot dead by unidentified criminals at Panchwati Plaza here March 14. The assailants escaped from the spot.

The police failed to crack the case and police chief V.D. Ram wrote to the home department seeking a CBI probe into the murder.

An official at the governor’s office said Razi Wednesday approved the government’s recommendation that the case be handed over to the CBI.
