Charles & Colvard names Lein to board

MORRISVILLE, N.C. — Charles & Colvard Ltd. on Monday announced the appointment of Charles D. Lein to the synthetic gem maker’s board.

Lein’s appointment increases the size of Charles & Colvard’s board to five members. Lein is a retired former president and chief operating officer of Stuller Inc., a jewelry manufacturer and wholesaler.

Charles & Colvard makes moissanite, a laboratory-created jewel that is nearly colorless and is sold primarily through U.S. and international retailers.

Shares of Morrissville, N.C.-based Charles & Colvard fell a penny to 50 cents a share. The stock has traded in a 52-week range of 18 cents to $1.17.
