Italy’s prime minister to visit the White House
WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama will welcome Italy’s prime minister to the White House.
The president and Silvio Berlusconi will meet on June 15 to discuss preparations for the Group of Eight Summit in L’Aquila, Italy, next month. The United States has strong bilateral relations with Italy, a NATO ally, and the two nations partner around the world to promote peace, prosperity and democratic freedoms.
The White House announced the prime minister’s visit on Saturday, and said the president and prime minister will also consult on a broad range of strategic issues of mutual concern.
