Police: Suicide bomber at mosque kills 8 in Iraq

BAGHDAD — A police official in the northern Iraqi city of Tal Afar says a suicide bomber has blown himself up inside a mosque, killing eight people.

The official says at least 25 people were wounded in Friday’s attack.

The official spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized the speak to media.

Tal Afar is about 90 miles (150 kilometers) east of the Syrian border in Ninevah province. It has been the scene of a number of horrific insurgent attacks.
