IGI ticketing system develops snag, flights delayed

NEW DELHI - A snag in the main ticketing system at the Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) led to many flights getting delayed Thursday evening, a senior official said.

The airport official said the snag occurred at around 5.30 p.m. and continued till around 7 p.m. He, however, could not provide details of the number of flights delayed.

The new domestic terminal, built at a cost of Rs.500 crore ($100 million) will start commercial operations Sunday, April 19.

Delhi International Airport officials said they have been conducting trials before the new terminal commences operations, but expect initial delays for at least a few days.
