IAS officer arrested in Punjab

CHANDIGARH - A senior IAS officer of Punjab was arrested here Monday on charges of accepting a bribe, officials said.

We laid a trap and arrested the officer while (he was) accepting money. I cannot divulge more information at this point of time, Deputy Inspector General Kuldeep Singh told IANS.

Sources in the vigilance department said a Punjab-based businessman had complained against the officer.
