Hot, humid day in store for Delhi

NEW DELHI - Delhiites will experience hot and humid weather Thursday, with the weatherman forecasting a maximum temperature above 40 degrees Celsius and humidity level around 59 percent.

The sky will remain partly clear with dust haze but there is no respite from the heat, said an official of the India Meteorological department.

The capital Thursday recorded a minimum temperature of 30 degrees Celsius, two notches above average. The maximum temperature was recorded at 40.4 degrees, one degree below average.

On Wednesday, a high humidity level of 68 percent left Delhiites sweating, while the minimum temperature touched an unexpected high.

The maximum temperature recorded Wednesday was 40.4 degrees Celsius, a notch below average. But the minimum temperature was 31.4 degrees Celsius, three degrees above average for this time of the year.
