Home Minister Chidambaram trailing

CHENNAI - Union Home Minister P. Chidambaram was trailing behind his AIADMK rival in Tamil Nadu’s Sivaganga parliamentary constituency, Election Commission officials said Saturday.

After about an hour of counting, he was trailing by 4,500 votes, officials said.

Besides AIADMK’s R.S. Raja Kannappan, Chidambaram’s other challengers include Barwatha Regina Papa and M.G. Devar from the DMDK and the Bahujan Samaj Party respectively.
