Heavy rains in Chandigarh, surrounding areas

CHANDIGARH - After clouds played hide and seek during the day, heavy to moderate rains lashed Chandigarh and the surrounding areas of Haryana and Punjab late Monday.
The showers provided Chandigarh residents with the much-needed relief from the scorching heat, causing a dip in temperature.
The city recorded a maximum temperature of 38.5 degrees Celsius Monday.
Heavy rainfall was also recorded at various places in Himachal Pradesh like Shimla, Manali, Mandi and Dharamsala.
